So last night we voted on the buy-in rule and after a 5-3 vote the rule will stay. Mike once again utilized his right to buy back in and this time was not as successful as the last one. As expected there was no bitching about it this time either.

We also confirmed Saturday May 15, 2010 as the SCS9 Final Table date.

Mike was able to take advantage of the buy-in rule last night and claw his way back to a third place finish. That sparked a few questions about how that affected the placement of the others. Last night Tyler was the first one out and decided not to buy back in. Mike finished 7th and decided a few hands later to buy back in so we were back to 7 players. Jared went out next and therefore finished 7th. No real discussion to be had. Obviously there is some strategy to addition of the buy-in rule and some adjustment in play will need to be met. Last night was a good example of how the buy-in rule can work well for you. Next week someone might go out early, buy back in and then lose right away again. Or perhaps wait too long and another person goes out and buys back in. There are many scenarios but the points system will remain the same.

Once again I am off to a good start. I wasn’t first one out this week though…Jared had an emergency situation at home and had to leave so I beat him out at least. I have to say I was impressed with the way the rules were upheld. I didn’t see one phone at the table and for the most part we all behaved like a society. Until I got taken out of course.
